Chapter 364 - 202: Major Farm Renovation
Chapter 364 - 202: Major Farm Renovation
November 7th, Friday.
Cloudy.
Even though it’s morning, the inside of the farm is already a bustling scene.
"Quack quack~"
Run Run Duck lies on a big rock, occasionally glancing at its busy little companions, gently flapping its wings against the rock to cheer them on.
Today is the day to build a treehouse for the Wood Spirit Rat family.
With the experience from last time, the little fellows are already skilled and don’t need Chen Yuan’s guidance.
First, Iron Head finds a suitably thick piece of wood, and Steel Blade lightly splits it. Accompanied by a cracking sound, the wood is cut into three evenly sized pieces.
Winter isn’t like summer; the temperature is lower, so Run Run Duck doesn’t need to help with watering to cool it down.
The Wood Spirit Rat family follows closely behind, tying these evenly sized pieces of wood together with ropes and fastening them to the Fallen Meteor Horned Beast and Cola.
"Roar roar~"
The Fallen Meteor Horned Beast stamps the ground heavily. With its astonishing strength, it drags these wooden sticks effortlessly, quickly transporting them to underneath a tall Camphor Tree, where the treehouse’s location is designated by Chen Yuan.
"Howl howl~"
In fact, with the Fallen Meteor Horned Beast present, Cola doesn’t actually need to come out.
But Cola really enjoys the feeling of dragging a pile of wooden sticks and racing through the yard, enveloped in a breeze, howling wildly as dust clouds rise from the friction against the ground.
In just a moment, dust is swirling all over the courtyard.
Chen Yuan is furious: "Cola!"
"Howl!"
Cola comes to a screeching halt in front of Chen Yuan, bringing a look of grievance.
Chen Yuan remains unmoved, with a stern expression: "If you continue this way, you won’t be having Cola for the next month."
Cola: "=͟͟͞͞(꒪ᗜ꒪‧̣̥̇)"
Once the wooden sticks are transported under the Camphor Tree, it’s Chen Yuan’s turn to step in.
He easily climbs up to the fork in the Camphor Tree’s trunk, and the little fellows hand over the wooden sticks, allowing him to begin constructing the treehouse.
The sun hangs high overhead. Under the concerted efforts of Chen Yuan and the little fellows, this wooden house is finally completed.
This wooden house is bigger and more exquisite than the Electric Flying Cat’s, which makes the Electric Flying Cat puff out its cheeks in envy, eyes gleaming: "Dian Dian!"
Carried by the wind is Chen Yuan’s carefree voice: "You live in a wooden house alone, while they have to squeeze into one. Whose is better, do you think?"
"Dian Dian....."
Chen Yuan’s words make the Electric Flying Cat fall silent.
Indeed, living alone in a wooden house is already fortunate.
Chen Yuan’s voice continues: "When you find another Electric Flying Cat one day, I’ll help you expand your wooden house."
On hearing this, the Electric Flying Cat first widens its eyes and then stares blankly at the ground, falling into a prolonged silence.
Chen Yuan’s words seem to touch upon a less happy memory for the Electric Flying Cat.
After a while, the Electric Flying Cat turns its head to look at Run Run Duck lying on the rock, gnashing its teeth: "Dian Dian!"
Duck, I’m going to challenge you!!!
Ignoring the playful antics of Run Run Duck and the Electric Flying Cat, Chen Yuan stands in the yard, surveying his surroundings in deep thought: "The farm’s development seems to have hit a bottleneck."
Thanks to Iron Head’s hard work in cultivating, the wasteland to the west of the farm has long been filled with Spirit Plants, with towering trees standing here.
Though it is the winter season with its decay, these Spirit Plants remain unaffected, still lush with foliage, making a rustling sound as the breeze passes through.
With the diligent nurturing of the little fellows and Chen Yuan’s careful supervision, there are no more seedlings in this field; even the smallest Void Fruit Tree stands about three meters tall now.
Looking far off, this isn’t a farmland, but a small grove.
However, there is no empty space left in this field to continue planting; to sow other Spirit Plants will require expansion.
But the land beyond doesn’t belong to the farm.
Nonetheless, the farm’s eastern side still holds a piece of land where the old man once planted cash crops, and Chen Yuan decides to plant the future Spirit Plants there.
Yet, looking at the internal environment of the farm, Chen Yuan’s eyes flicker with new ideas.
Currently, the farm interior is overly cluttered, lacking aesthetic appeal. Right now, he doesn’t lack time or money, making it a perfect opportunity for improvement.
Since both the east and west of the farm have fields, it’s perfect to plant two neat rows of roadside trees along both sides of the yard, not only aesthetically pleasing but also providing shade in the summer.
"Some trees can be planted beside the fish pond too," Chen Yuan mutters.
"Quack quack!"
Run Run Duck strongly opposes.
Then how can I bask in the sun?
Chen Yuan ruffles Run Run Duck’s feathers but is pushed away by the latter’s wing.
Annoying farm owner, stop ruffling my feathers!
Chen Yuan smiles slightly: "Just a few trees, it won’t block the entire pond."
Pausing, he paints a beautiful prospect for Run Run Duck’s future: "Duck, think about it. As you lie on the rock basking in the sun, a fruit falls from the tree right into your mouth."
"You don’t need to move your body, just move your mouth and enjoy the delicious fruit."
"Aren’t you tempted?"
"Quack quack!"
Run Run Duck’s eyes light up, attempting to pat Chen Yuan’s shoulder with its wing to express satisfaction, only to find itself too short to reach.
In a fit of rage, Run Run Duck simply stands on tipduck and forcefully pats Chen Yuan’s shoulder.
"The yard also needs a makeover." Chen Yuan’s eyes flicker.
Currently, the yard is overly simple, devoid of any aesthetic appeal.
Of course, Chen Yuan won’t emulate Zhang Hao who strings colorful lights and random decorations all over the yard.
The reason Zhang Hao decorates this way is purely for outside tourists needing photographic opportunities.
In fact, to better cater to female tourists for their pictures, Zhang Hao learns from the hotel and homestay decoration styles from Ye Yu City, Yun Province, by adding a glass floor on the rooftop. This way, one captures oneself in the mirror, one’s original self, and the distant mountain range all at once in the lens.
