Chapter 21 Watching the Tigers Fight, the Divine Rooster Displays its Power
Chapter 21 Watching the Tigers Fight, the Divine Rooster Displays its Power
Six Ghost Cultists dressed in black robes and four Five Poison Cultists wearing silver rings around their necks were fighting with more than a hundred Blue Fish Ghost Children.
The cultists of the Spectrum drove the specters to flit and bite, their white banners waving and creating gusts of eerie wind. The specters' howls grew increasingly mournful, and their attacks became even more ferocious.
The Five Gu Cult members spread poisonous insects to harass others, while simultaneously controlling strange creatures to unleash a series of deadly attacks, employing insidious and ruthless methods.
Although the Green Fish Ghost Child only used a wooden spear, his body was covered with a layer of slippery, yin energy, making him completely impervious to force.
Occasionally, a ruthless move would break through that layer of yin energy, but no blood would flow from the wound; instead, clumps of grayish-white dead flesh would be exposed.
Within a few breaths, the wounds began to move and close on their own, as if they were alive, and were restored to their original state in the blink of an eye.
The three elite-level blue fish ghost children even developed magical abilities, opening their mouths and spitting out pillars of black water.
The ghosts vanished instantly upon being washed by the black water; the venomous insects that touched it turned into black water in a flash.
The cult members quickly dodged to the side, not daring to get involved in the slightest.
If the black water hadn't come with such force but only rushed in one direction, unable to bend or turn, the cultists would probably have been captured long ago.
However, the one who had the upper hand on the battlefield was not the Azure Fish Ghost Child, but the cultists—more precisely, the Five Gu Cultists.
Around the battlefield, more than a hundred skeletons lay scattered on the ground, without a trace of blood. The vast majority of them were left by the Azure Fish Ghost Child, but there were also a few human skeletons.
A swarm of blood-red mosquitoes, each the size of a soybean, hovered overhead, sometimes sweeping down like a thick, blood-red fog.
A member of the Five Gu Cult held a flute to his lips, the sound of which was sinister and eerie. Blood mosquitoes swooped down to kill him in sync with the music, making the situation unpredictable and treacherous.
"Ah—" A grotesque child, whose skin was torn and had not yet healed, was unable to dodge and was sucked into a dried corpse in a few breaths, falling into the mud.
A swarm of eerie spiders immediately emerged from the ground and rushed forward.
Another member of the Five Poisons Cult threw out a gourd, from which black mist gushed out, enveloping the spider swarm, causing the spiders to move even more rapidly.
A few more breaths later, the mummified corpse was stripped down to bare white bones.
A strange stone rolled down and was dragged into the mud by the strange spiders.
Upon seeing this, an elite-level bluefish ghost child roared in anger and spat out a stream of black water. A small portion of the blood mosquitoes that touched it instantly turned into the black water and fell to the ground, dissolving completely.
The blood mosquitoes, having just finished sucking blood, flapped their wings, and a mist of blood spread, enveloping the entire swarm of mosquitoes in an eerie atmosphere.
As the Five Gu Cult members changed the tune of their flute, the blood mist churned with the melody. Within a few breaths, the number of blood mosquitoes filled the gaps again, circling in the sky, searching for their next target.
'This cheap apprentice is so unreliable,' Jiang Jun thought to himself. 'This isn't the Azure Fish Ghost Child attacking cultists; it's clearly the Five Gu Cult members hunting...'
The sight of those blood mosquitoes and eerie spiders gave him goosebumps.
The "Divine Rooster Catches Five Poisons Talisman" trembled slightly; if it hadn't been deliberately suppressed, it would have already jumped out and burned these evil things to ashes.
He and Cai Liang hid in the distance, focusing their attention on sensing the eight cult members.
Two of the Ghost Cult members, along with the Five Gu Cult members who control blood mosquitoes and spiders, can operate their strange creatures without the need for blood essence as fuel, and are already mid-level backbone members of the Refinement Realm.
However, the one who controlled the spider and the other ghost cultist were clearly weaker and did not pose a strong threat to Jiang Jun. They were obviously only advancing by refining a complete level of ghost artifact.
The other two are relatively strong, and have most likely refined elite-level monsters, making them difficult to deal with.
However, Jiang Jun's plan was for the snipe and the clam to fight while the fisherman benefits, so it didn't matter to him.
He remained calm and watched the two sides fight from the sidelines.
Cai Liang, having already assumed Jiang Jun was a master, wasn't surprised that he hadn't taken action to subdue the demon. He had already completed his self-discovery: "Teacher, is this to broaden my horizons and let me observe more battles to improve my combat skills?"
Another half hour passed.
Now only four Refinement Realm heretics and three elite-level Azure Fish Ghost Children remain on the field, both sides are badly injured and severely weakened.
It was clear that the cultists had long intended to back down, but the three blue fish demons clung to them relentlessly.
Seeing that they couldn't determine a winner in the short term, and fearing that things might get complicated if they waited too long, Jiang Jun finally decided to take action.
"Stay here and don't move. I'll be right back." He told Cai Liang to stay where he was and strode forward.
A faint light flashed, and the monsters in the room ignored him.
Only four cultists noticed something was wrong and sent ghosts and worms to stop them, but these monsters were all disoriented and could not find the enemy.
Seeing this, Jiang Jun made up his mind and first raised his hand to throw out the "Divine Rooster Catches Five Poisons Talisman".
"Giggle giggle—"
When the rooster crows, true fire descends.
The four characters "The Divine Rooster is Here" and the claw print below emerged from the yellow paper, accompanied by swirling flames, transforming into a large rooster with a fiery comb and a colorful body.
When the rooster landed on the battlefield, the treacherous and poisonous insects swarmed towards it uncontrollably. Halfway there, they dared not get close and just lay on the ground trembling.
The group of spiders also emerged from the mud. Although they were not all summoned to their deaths, they were still frantically circling around in place.
Only the swarm of blood mosquitoes, which seemed to be of extremely high quality and not among the Five Poisons, were only slightly affected.
With a flick of its wings, the rooster instantly set those low-class, venomous insects ablaze, turning them to ashes.
It then strode forward, snatched a roaming-level scorpion, tilted its head back and swallowed it whole, followed by another roaming-level toad.
"Pfft!" The Five Gu Cult members who were controlling the spider spat out black blood.
Although these poisons were not his lifeblood, they were bound by blood ties, and now that he is dead, he has been implicated to some extent.
The three blue fish demons, unaware of the principle of mutual dependence, saw the cultist injured and immediately intensified their attack, spitting out a stream of black water at the man.
"Sizzle sizzle sizzle..." The person couldn't dodge in time, and their entire skin was melted away, revealing black and red muscles and silver-gray tendons, which looked extremely terrifying.
But this guy didn't utter a sound, and commanded the spiders to go forward and attack the rooster fearlessly.
At the same time, he threw out the gourd in his hand, which continuously spewed out black mist, risking exhausting the spiders to make them go into a full-blown battle and fight to the death.
Seeing that their side was being attacked from both sides, the other three cult members were even more determined to retreat.
"Retreat immediately!" The two Ghost Cultists took out white banners and raised them forcefully. Countless ghosts fell into the banners, turning into a dark cloud that enveloped the four of them.
Another member of the Five Gu Cult held a flute to his lips and used the music to control the blood mosquitoes, which circled around the dark clouds.
Seeing that they were about to run away, the three eerie children panicked. Their eerie energy surged violently, and their power surged, surrounding them from three directions.
They opened their mouths and spewed out black water, squeezing the blood mosquitoes and dark clouds in the middle, making it impossible for them to break through for a while.
The black water, mixed with their sinister blood, was used without any restraint, showing a determination to fight to the death.
Although Jiang Jun came for the Green Fish Strange Stone, he was unwilling to let the cultists escape and harm the people in the real world, so he quickly beat the dog that had fallen into the water.
