Chapter 70 Boxing Debate
Chapter 70 Boxing Debate
Simon gazed at the figure engulfed in flames and asked, "How did you track me down?"
An unexpected encounter in a burning forest? He didn't believe it was a coincidence.
"I used some special methods to track you down," Andrei replied casually.
"Special means? Psychic power?" Simon reacted quickly.
He also remembered Elphis saying that Andrei was a hidden psychic, and naturally had the means to control psychic energy.
As Andrei drew closer, Simon could clearly see his bloodshot eyes and stubble-covered chin, looking utterly listless.
"Using psionic powers feels very uncomfortable, like taking your head out, replacing it with another one, and putting it back in. I really, really dislike it." He spoke slowly, as if sharing his true feelings with a friend, "But if I could find you, it would all be worth it."
"You're that eager to find me?"
As the distance closed, Simon gripped the harpoon tightly, his arm muscles poised for action.
After taking a few steps forward, the priest stood in front of him.
"This is your last chance, Simon. Hand over the flesh of the Hungry Angel as evidence of your sins, and I will use the Church's authority to erase your record. You will no longer be a sinner..." he said solemnly. "I can make you a Watcher of the Abyss."
A warm, bright light flashed in his eyes.
"We can still be friends and colleagues. We can fight side by side. In a year, the Empire will restart the plan to conquer the Abyss. We will conquer this blasphemous land layer by layer, and kill all the aliens and heretics. If you cooperate with me, we will be invincible and unstoppable."
However, Simon only asked one question:
Can the Abyss Watchers leave the Abyss?
Andrei shook his head regretfully.
"No. From the moment we become Watchers of the Abyss, our mission is to suppress this breeding ground of chaos for life." A glint flashed in his eyes. "No one may leave the Abyss. This is the order, an ironclad order that no one can break!"
"I'm sorry, but I cannot refuse!"
Ding--
The iron arm and the harpoon collided head-on, the metal colliding and separating instantly, both men's eyes flashing with a determination to fight to the death.
It's time to put an end to this hunt!
"You've been wasting your time, Simon! You sent those two idiots here just to distract me! But let me tell you, I won't let you distract me!" Andrei delivered a fatal punch to Simon's chest. "Give me that piece of incriminating flesh, or die!"
Simon dared not take the powerful punch head-on. He reacted quickly, holding the harpoon horizontally in front of his chest to block, and instantly turning the harpoon head the moment the fist hit.
Click—
A steel crossbow bolt struck Andrei's face. He dodged to the side, but the bolt still left a long, narrow scar on his face. The bolt hit a burning tree behind him, and the trunk slowly fell. Countless sparks flew onto the two men, and the intense heat made them sweat profusely.
Suddenly creating distance, Simon opened the kettle, splashed water on his burqa, and tore off a corner of it to wet it, covering his mouth and nose.
A quick victory is impossible; he must be prepared for a protracted struggle.
Andrei staggered out of the flames, extinguished the flames in his hair, ripped off his burning robe, and struggled to regain his balance.
Combustion consumes oxygen, and the combustion of various substances can also produce toxic gases. Simon is now in a stronger position!
Wielding a harpoon and hacking down, his motivation for fighting now stemmed not from the will to survive, but from a deep-seated, inexplicable desire to win.
Andrei unleashed unprecedented power, punching the harpoon as it came down. With a sickening cutting sound, the sharp blade of the harpoon got stuck in the iron fist. Simon then kicked out, sending Andrei staggering back half a step.
"If you were me, what would you do in a library with alarms blaring?" he shouted, continuing to disrupt Andrei's judgment.
"Shut your mouth! Don't try to bother me!"
Unable to pull the harpoon out, Simon simply handed it to Andrei. The blade was still stuck in his fist, preventing him from swinging his fist freely.
Simon assumed a standard boxing stance, arms raised in front of his chest. Seizing the opportunity when Andre was dealing with the harpoon in his fist, he suddenly lunged forward and delivered a powerful punch to Andre's chest. At the same time, he stepped on Andre's foot and delivered an uppercut straight to Andre's chin!
With blood trickling from his mouth and feeling dizzy, Andrei pulled the harpoon from his fist at the last moment. He tilted his head back and threw a punch at the same time as Simon!
thump—
Two dull thuds followed as Simon's fist struck Andrei's face once more! Andrei's fist, in turn, struck his left arm, resulting in a sharp crack as his left arm fractured and dislocated. Andrei was also in considerable pain, with blood gushing from his left eye socket, leaving him nearly blind in that eye!
"Why are you always like this... why do you always dwell on the past!" Andrei roared, covering his left eye. "You can look forward! You can embrace a brand new future!"
Despite the excruciating pain, Simon twisted his right hand with all his might! With a snap, he repositioned his dislocated arm all by himself.
Flames raged all around, and oxygen was almost completely depleted, but he roared out his declaration:
"I can't let it go! On that day, I was the only one chasing the thief who stole the forbidden goods, while they threw the only one who stayed true to his duty into the abyss!"
"I have never been a sinner, I am innocent!"
Andrei's voice gradually weakened:
"Why...why did you chase after him? Didn't you know it was risky? Anyone who sees forbidden items will be judged, didn't you know that?" His voice lost its strength, and his words couldn't even convince himself, "You shouldn't have chased that thief!"
The surrounding environment became increasingly harsh. Sweating profusely, Simon gritted his teeth, rushed over, and punched Andrei in the face once again!
"It is a scholar's duty to guard those books; how can one knowingly fail to stop someone from stealing!"
The cloth covering his mouth and nose had lost its moisture, and Simon was also affected by the poisonous gas. His mind was foggy, and he wanted to sleep soundly in the warm sea of fire.
Andrei fell to the ground, his face swollen and disfigured. He struggled to his feet, gritted his teeth, and stepped forward again. The two fought desperately in the sea of fire, their fists raining down on each other. They ignored each other's arguments; since that was the case, they could only settle things with their fists!
The burning trees fell one after another, and the flames spread to the two men. Neither of them was willing to give in, and they fought to the death even if they were engulfed in flames.
Finally, a weakened Simon staggered and threw a fatal punch!
