Chapter 27 Descending the Mountain, Red Cloud Perceives
Chapter 27 Descending the Mountain, Red Cloud Perceives
Upon reaching the summit of Buzhou Mountain, Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun stood side by side, their figures motionless in the howling wind, like two ancient stone sculptures, remaining silent for a long time.
Even though they are already among the top beings of the Great Luo Golden Immortals, their mental cultivation has long reached the state of being calm and undisturbed by worldly affairs.
Standing at the very top of this world, overlooking the boundless, magnificent, and ever-changing primordial land below, I feel the ancient, majestic, and boundless aura emanating from this sacred mountain formed from the spine of the Father God.
Deep within my Dao heart, an indescribable sense of awe and reverence for the very origin of life still welled up involuntarily.
The primordial world was truly vast and boundless!
The majestic mountains that once seemed towering and vast now appear as tiny as models on a sand table, or like building blocks casually placed by a child, when viewed from here.
The mighty rivers and streams that rush and roar, nourishing all things, meander and twist, as thin as gossamer threads, outlining pale silver veins on the vast land.
Thick clouds rolled and swirled beneath their feet, sometimes like cotton wool, sometimes like raging waves, shrouding most of the mountains and rivers in a hazy mist, adding a touch of mystery.
Looking up, the Sun and Moon, which hang high in the sky and shine upon all living beings, seem so close at this moment, as if one could reach out and touch their outlines, and feel the power of utmost yang and yin emanating from them.
A sense of vastness and insignificance, like a drop in the ocean, is intertwined with a strange sense of "control" that arises naturally from standing on this summit, as if one can perceive parts of the pulse of heaven and earth, forming a complex and wonderful state of mind experience.
The great god Pangu single-handedly created such an unimaginable vast world from chaos. His supreme power and his all-encompassing heart far exceed the imagination limits of any living being in later generations.
Standing here, breathing in the mountain air that seemed to contain the purest breath from the beginning of time, Zhen Yuanzi and Hongyun could feel more clearly the supreme will and profound compassion contained in every inch of the mountain and every wisp of wind, the will to create the world, to transform into all things, and to benefit all living beings.
This realization is unrelated to the growth of one's spiritual cultivation, but it points directly to the origin of one's spiritual heart; it is a spiritual baptism and sublimation.
The two strolled slowly on the vast mountaintop platform. The rocks beneath their feet were a dark, murky yellow, incredibly hard, bearing the marks of countless years of wind and rain and the erosion of chaotic air currents.
The oppressive force of Pangu here has weakened considerably compared to the climb. It no longer possesses the domineering power to crush everything, but has become more refined and restrained, like a tempered essence, gently permeating their bodies and spirits.
The air was still filled with a faint aftertaste of the Great Dao. Although it did not have the same overwhelming impact on the mind as when we first entered the mountain peak area, it was still of great benefit in consolidating what we had gained, purifying the magic power in our bodies, and nurturing our Dao heart.
They did not rush to leave, but lingered for a long time on this sacred land that symbolized the origin of the primordial world and the glory of the Father God, like the most devout pilgrims.
Whether sitting quietly to contemplate or walking silently, completely relax your body and mind, immerse yourself in this unique environment, and savor this one-of-a-kind spiritual cleansing and the subtle benefits it brings. Thoroughly digest and reflect on the fatigue and gains during the climb.
Only when they felt they had gained enough from the trip, their minds were at peace, and there was no need to linger any longer, did the two decide to descend the mountain. The descent was infinitely easier than the arduous climb against the terrifying pressure they had faced.
They still did not use any immortal techniques to escape, relying only on their stronger and more agile physical bodies, which had been tempered by Buzhou Mountain.
Following the steep, rugged, and craggy mountain terrain, like two exceptionally agile celestial apes, they sometimes leaped lightly, sometimes used stones for leverage, their figures elusive, and they sped down the mountain at an extremely fast speed.
The wind whistled in my ears, and the scenery on both sides rushed past me, creating a unique and exhilarating feeling.
However, when they flew over to the other side of Buzhou Mountain, near a seemingly ordinary mountain valley in the middle section, which was shrouded in thick clouds and mist all year round.
The red cloud flying at the forefront suddenly stopped, letting out a soft "Eh" filled with surprise and confusion, abruptly halting in mid-air, its crimson Taoist robe fluttering in the wind from the sudden stop.
An expression of disbelief crossed his face, his brows furrowed slightly, and he hovered in the air, carefully sensing his surroundings as if trying to detect some extremely subtle fluctuation.
"Fellow Daoist Zhen Yuanzi, please wait a moment." Hongyun raised his hand and called out to Zhen Yuanzi, who was following closely behind and had also stopped.
Zhen Yuanzi lightly touched a protruding, sharp rock with his toes, standing as steady as Mount Tai. His aura was calm and collected. He turned to look at Hongyun, his eyes revealing a questioning look:
"Fellow Daoist, what has made you stop?" He did not detect any obvious danger or abnormal energy fluctuations.
Hongyun closed his eyes, and his aura became increasingly ethereal and unpredictable, as if he had merged with the surrounding clouds and mist. He raised his spiritual senses to the extreme.
After carefully sensing for the time it takes for an incense stick to burn, he spoke with some uncertainty, his tone full of doubt:
"Strange... truly strange... Just now, when I passed by this place, a faint, ethereal, and indistinct force suddenly arose in my heart, as if it originated from the depths of my bloodline and the instinct of my true spirit."
It seemed to be coming from somewhere deep within the clouds below, faint and indistinct... almost as if it were calling to me?
The sensation was unusually vague, intermittent, like a candle flickering in the wind, so faint as to be almost negligible. If he hadn't just experienced the baptism of Buzhou Mountain, his mind would have been clear and tranquil, and his spiritual senses would have been at an unprecedented level of sharpness, he probably wouldn't have been able to perceive it at all.
Upon hearing this, Zhen Yuanzi's heart stirred, and fragments of memory naturally surfaced from the depths of his consciousness—Mount Buzhou, the innate gourd vine, the seven innate gourds… one of them seemed to indeed have a deep connection with Fellow Daoist Hongyun.
However, it is clear that the time is not yet fully ripe, and the opportunity has not yet fully manifested itself, which is why its naturally emanating attraction is so weak and difficult to discern.
"Oh? Is that so?"
Zhen Yuanzi remained expressionless to avoid interfering with Hongyun's own perception. He pondered for a moment, pretending to think, and then spoke slowly.
"Mount Buzhou was formed from the spine of the Father God. It is the center of the primordial world and the source of all paths. It has its own inconceivable wonders."
Since you feel a connection, fellow Daoist, and there seems to be a mysterious pull in your heart, perhaps your opportunity has arrived, and you should reap some rewards here.
The ways of Heaven are unpredictable, and opportunities are hard to fathom. Now that we have sensed them, we cannot afford to miss them. Let us pause our journey for now, investigate carefully, and see what is truly at play.”
Hongyun, who was naturally fond of serendipitous encounters and eager to explore, was greatly encouraged by Zhen Yuanzi's words. The uncertainty in her heart was instantly replaced by anticipation, and she quickly nodded in agreement.
"What you say is absolutely right, fellow Daoist! Although this feeling is slight, it is real and true, and it is certainly not unfounded."
Then I will trouble you, fellow Daoist, to join me in exploring the mystery of these clouds and mists!
He was convinced that this vague attraction must be caused by some kind of spiritual entity that was connected to him.
So the two immediately changed their plan to go straight down the mountain and stopped in this misty, complex mountain valley area.
They descended, drawing close to the mountainside, and began to use their powerful divine sense to weave an invisible yet incredibly intricate net.
Slowly and patiently, I scanned every inch of the exposed rock, every deep crack, and every energy node that might hide a blessed land.
However, as the pillar supporting the sky, Mount Buzhou has an extremely unique texture, containing the will of Pangu and the residual aura of chaos, which has a strong effect of isolating and interfering with divine consciousness.
Even with the divine sense strength of these Great Luo Golden Immortals, probing into the rocks was like sinking into a quagmire, with numerous obstacles and greatly reduced range and clarity of perception.
Furthermore, the traction force itself was as elusive as a gossamer thread, sometimes clear for a moment, and sometimes completely disappearing without a trace, which brought great difficulties to the search.
They are like searching for a specific grain of gold in a vast desert, requiring immense patience and focus.
