Chapter 290: SHAMELESS
Chapter 290: SHAMELESS
BAEK JEHO couldn’t control the release of his stinky pheromones as he was really angry. Not wanting to suffocate Cho Euntak with his stinky pheromones again, he stepped out of the room to calm himself down. It should be fine since Cho Euntak’s parents were with him now. Plus, his mother was also on her way to visit his boyfriend.
Fuck.
I want to smoke.
Baek Jeho touched the cigarette pack in his pocket, but he didn’t pull it out. It should be fine since he was in the smoking area anyway.
However...
Euntakie doesn’t like the smell of cigarettes.
So, he just pulled out a candy from his pocket and put it in his mouth.
I should totally quit smoking now.
Second-hand smoke was worse than direct smoking, and Baek Jeho didn’t want Cho Euntak to be sick because of him.
Seeing Euntakie faint once is enough— I don’t want to see that happen again.
"Jeho-ya, I knew you’d be here."
Baek Jeho raised his head and smiled a little. "Eomma..."
"I’m not going to ask you how you are— you’re obviously not okay," his mother said, cupping Baek Jeho’s face between his hands. "Have you calmed down? Should we go and see Euntak together?"
"You go ahead, Eomma. I’m not completely calm yet. I don’t want Euntakie to suffocate with my stinky pheromones."
"Why are you angry, son? Is Euntak that sick?"
"Eomma, actually..."
And then Baek Jeho spilled the beans.
I told Eomma that we’re suspecting Kim Minjae of messing with Euntak’s meds.
As expected, now his mother looked angrier than he was.
"Eomma, the investigation hasn’t started yet, so we don’t know if Kim Minjae really messed with Euntak’s stabilizers," Baek Jeho said. Seeing the murderous look on his mother’s face helped him calm down. One of them had to be sane, after all. "So, I’m still waiting."
His mother let out a deep breath as if trying to calm herself down.
"Eomma, I’m asking just in case, but..." Baek Jeho hesitated before asking. "You’re not just angry because the culprit is Abeoji’s mistress, are you?"
His mother looked offended, but she nodded in the end. "I understand why you’d think that way. But no. I genuinely care about Euntak. I’d react this way, even if the culprit isn’t that person. Someone dared to harm my son-in-law, after all."
Aww.
Baek Jeho was relieved to hear that.
My mother really likes Euntak as my partner.
"Don’t worry, Eomma— I’m going to confront Kim Minjae first."
"You’re doing it on your own?"
"I will meet that person once the investigation begins."
"Why hasn’t the investigation started yet? A kid almost died."
"Well, there are due processes that we need to follow..."
"That only applies to common people," his mother said, already making a phone call. "Jeho-ya, it’s about time you finally learn that we’re not just an average rich family."
Right.
How could Baek Jeho forget?
We’re not chaebols, but my family is filthy rich, especially on my mother’s side.

CHO EUNTAK flinched when Dr. Seong Kyungmin drew his blood for a test.
He had been taking proper treatment to bring his pheromones back to their normal state.
To be honest, he developed a fear of taking pills because of what happened.
So, he only took medicines that Dr. Seong Kyungmin, Baek Jeho, and his parents personally checked first.
Yes, I’ll need to see a therapist later.
"The previous result of your pheromone test showed great improvement, Euntak-ssi," Dr. Seong Kyungmin said after sending the nurses out to bring the extracted blood to the lab. "The Omega pheromones that invaded your system had decreased significantly. I’m positive that the next result would be better. Thankfully, the medicine that I’ve prescribed works best with your constitution."
His parents looked relieved upon hearing that.
So am I, of course.
"Dr. Seong, does it mean I’m still an Alpha?" Cho Euntak asked nervously. "I’m not going to turn into an Omega anymore?"
"Yes, you won’t turn into an Omega," Dr. Seong Kyungmin assured him. "The medicine that you’ve been taking has killed the Omega pheromones in your body."
That was a relief to know.
"Dr. Seong, if that person has been proven to have messed with our son’s medication on purpose, can we send him to jail?" his father asked firmly. "I won’t be satisfied with just his license revoked."
Ah, yes.
Cho Euntak told his parents about his suspicions against Kim Minjae.
My parents have the right to know.
"If it’s civil malpractice, then there will be no jail time. Kim Minjae-ssi will only have his license revoked, and he’d be obliged to pay for monetary damages," Dr. Seong Kyungmin said. "However, if we prove to the court that Kim Minjae-ssi’s actions involved gross negligence, recklessness, or malicious intent beyond a reasonable doubt, then he could face criminal charges. Criminal malpractice has the possibility of jail time."
That was a relief to hear.
We just need to prove that Kim Minjae-ssi wanted to harm me on purpose.
And that was the thing that he was worried about.
"Dr. Seong, I didn’t die, and my life wasn’t put at risk," Cho Euntak said, making his parents frown. Of course, hearing their child say something as gloomy as that might have hurt his mother and father. "I only fainted after experiencing a severe stomachache. Even if we prove that Kim Minjae-ssi tampered with my meds on purpose, do you think we can still frame the case as a criminal malpractice?"
"Of course, Euntak-ssi," Dr. Seong Kyungmin assured him. "We will make sure that Kim Minjae-ssi will be punished accordingly if he turns out to be guilty."

BAEK JEHO had already calmed down, so he went back inside the hospital with his mother.
And, much to their shock...
"What the fuck are you two doing here?" Baek Jeho asked through gritted teeth, clenching his hands tight. "Abeoji, why did you bring that bastard here?"
Yes, it was his father...
... and that damned Kim Minjae.
If his mother hadn’t grabbed Baek Jeho’s arm, he would have already sent Kim Minjae flying, even though his father was standing in front of the bastard protectively.
"Baek Jeho, calm down."
"Don’t you dare tell my son to calm down, Baek Jaedong," his mother said in a calm yet firm voice while glaring at his father. "How dare you bring that person here, knowing that he almost killed a child?"
His mother spoke as if Kim Minjae had already been found guilty.
Baek Jeho knew that it was wrong.
Innocent until proven guilty, yes.
Having said that, he still didn’t correct his mother.
"Han Sumi, watch your words," his father scolded his mother as if he had the right to do so. "Kim Minjae did no such thing."
"You don’t get to decide that, Baek Jaedong," his mother retorted, almost barking at his father. "The court will decide whether that person is guilty or not."
His father looked like he still wanted to pick a fight with his mother.
But his father stopped when Kim Minjae grabbed his arm.
Tsk.
"Did it work?" Kim Minjae asked indifferently while looking Baek Jeho straight in the eye. "Did Cho Euntak become an Omega?"
Both his parents were stunned, especially his father, who had been trying to defend that bastard since earlier.
So, who wouldn’t be surprised by the bastard’s question?
After all, Kim Minjae practically admitted that he messed with Cho Euntak’s medicines to turn him into an Omega.
And the worse part?
Kim Minjae didn’t look guilty at all.
Hah.
"You fucking bastard," Baek Jeho cursed under his breath, practically growling while charging at Kim Minjae. "I’m going to kill you!"
