Chapter 288: MYSTERIOUS ILLNESS

Chapter 288: MYSTERIOUS ILLNESS

CHO EUNTAK didn’t faint, but he felt too tired to get up from bed. However, he had a feeling that he should go to the ER right now.

I can’t drive in this state, so I should just call a taxi.

No, he should be calling Baek Jeho at times like this.

Yes, it was almost midnight.

But I’m sure Jeho won’t mind.

Unfortunately for Cho Euntak, his parents weren’t home yet as his mom and dad attended a funeral.

Hence, he had no choice but to bother his boyfriend.

Thankfully, Baek Jeho picked up the call just after two rings.

"Euntak-ah?"

"Jeho-ya, can you drive me to the hospital?" Cho Euntak asked nervously. "I feel better now, but my stomach still feels funny..."

"I’ll be there in five minutes."

"Huh? That fast?"

"I’m actually on my way to your house right now. Your mom called me earlier. She said she felt bad leaving you alone at home, so she asked me to keep you company until they return."

Oh.

A mother’s instinct is really unrivaled.

"Okay, I’ll get ready while waiting for you."

"Don’t hang up, Euntak-ah. Tell me how you’re feeling right now."

Cho Euntak assured Jeho that he was fine while packing up his things.

He had a feeling that he would get confined after going to the ER, so he brought all the things he might need: his medical records, his pheromone stabilizer since he needed to take one pill tomorrow morning, and his drawing tablet.

Just in case I get bored.

Anyway, five minutes passed by easily.

As soon as Cho Euntak opened the door for Baek Jeho, his boyfriend’s eyes widened in shock.

"Euntak-ah, you look so pale!"

"Well, I’m starting to feel sick again," Cho Euntak admitted, since he didn’t want to hide things like that from Baek Jeho. Then he grabbed his stomach. "It’s starting to hurt again..."

"Let’s go," Baek Jeho said, carrying Cho Euntak in his arms as if he weighed nothing. "Let’s rush to the ER."

Cho Euntak didn’t know what happened next because he fainted while in the car.

***

THE LAST thing Cho Euntak remembered before fainting was having a severe stomachache. And when he woke up the next morning, his stomach started feeling ’funny’ for a different reason.

Why is this scary chaebol here?

He was talking about SG Group’s Song Sihyuk— the Alpha husband of former idol Lim Garam.

And Garam Hyung is a friend of Sohee Hyung.

Park Sohee and Hong Sera were also there— the two rushed to visit him in the hospital as soon as it was morning.

Apparently, Heedo Hyung-nim was left at home to take care of their twins.

After all, the twins were still too young to stay in a hospital where there were sick people everywhere.

Anyways...

The reason Lim Garam and Song Sihyuk were there?

They are here because they brought Gunwoo— their son— to have a consultation with Dr. Seong. When Sohee Hyung accidentally saw Garam Hyung in the hospital, he told them about what happened to me. Since I’ve met Garam Hyung a few times before, he came to visit me with his family.

"Now that you’ve seen my boyfriend, you can all leave now," Baek Jeho said, acting grumpy with their guests. "You’re overwhelming him."

"Hey, it’s alright," Cho Euntak said, tugging at Baek Jeho’s shirt. "I’m fine."

"Look at this brat, acting like a protective Alpha already," Hong Sera said while shaking her head. "Baek Jeho, Cho Euntak is our baby brother first before he’s your boyfriend, okay?"

"Sera is right," Park Heedo added. "Who are you to tell us to scram, huh?"

"Sohee Hyung and Sera Noona are right," Cho Euntak said, causing Baek Jeho to frown. "Don’t be rude to our guests."

The guests in question snickered when Baek Jeho acted like he was about to cry just because Cho Euntak didn’t take his side.

So immature.

No wonder their guests loved teasing Baek Jeho.

"Euntakie Hyung, are you sick?"

It was Song Gunwoo— the only son of Lim Garam and Song Sihyuk.

Is he six or seven years old now?

Cho Euntak couldn’t remember.

All he knew was that Song Gunwoo was tall and big for his age.

This baby could easily be mistaken for an elementary school student.

"I feel better now, Gunwoo-ya," Cho Euntak said, smiling at the child. "Thank you for asking."

To be honest, the doctors hadn’t seen anything wrong with Cho Euntak yet.

Yes, the source of his mysterious illness hadn’t been found yet.

Dr. Seong said he’ll come back to check on me again later.

"Euntak-ah, don’t forget to take your stabilizer," Baek Jeho reminded him while handing him the bottle that contained the pills. "Here."

The lid was already open when Baek Jeho handed the bottle to Cho Euntak.

"Thank you, Jeho-ya."

Cho Euntak picked up a pill and was about to put it in his mouth, but...

"No!"

Huh?

Cho Euntak was surprised when Song Gunwoo suddenly swatted his hand— causing him to drop the pill he was about to take.

"Gunwoo-ya!" Park Sohee immediately scolded his son. "Why did you do that?"

"It smells bad, Dad!" Song Gunwoo insisted, pointing at the bottle of stabilizer pills. "Euntakie Hyung will get sick if he takes that!"

Huh?

Cho Euntak and Baek Jeho were both confused.

"My son has a very sensitive nose," Song Sihyuk explained while snatching the bottle from Cho Euntak. "He can tell when a harmful substance is mixed in food or medicines like this. Our son once saved us from getting poisoned. He can pick up scents that even I can’t."

Cho Euntak gasped when he realized what it meant.

"Sihyuk Hyung-nim, are you saying that the stabilizer that Cho Euntak has been taking all this time is actually poisoning him?" Baek Jeho asked in disbelief, voicing out the same thoughts that Cho Euntak had. "Is that why he’s sick?"

"Well, I don’t know either," Song Sihyuk answered nonchalantly, shaking the bottle in his hand. "Let’s take this to Seong Kyungmin and let him check if these stabilizer pills are safe for consumption or not."
