Becoming a God Starts with Acting

Chapter 494: [Crimson Inheritance] (13)

Chapter 494: [Crimson Inheritance] (13)

Silvanus didn’t have time to flip to the next page—the one that contained meaningful lines instead of just repeating Daisy’s name.If he wanted to know more, he would have to return to that space once again.

Just now, everything had been far too rushed. Daisy had been right behind him, staring intently at him. Under her watchful gaze, he truly hadn’t felt confident enough to slip the diary into the God Realm.

Even so, that amount of information was already enough for Silvanus to form some initial guesses.

He noticed the name of someone familiar—Daniel, the lawyer from outside. So far, no other names had appeared, but based on his speculation, everyone here must have some kind of connection to one another in this world. Now, a piece of the puzzle had surfaced. All of them might have once been classmates, and perhaps some incident had occurred in which they were all connected to Daisy’s death.

As for the identity of the man mentioned on the TV—the one who had died in the forest—what exactly was he? It felt as though he was undoubtedly a key figure.

A tangle of thoughts filled his mind. Just then, a childish voice suddenly rang out, cutting through his thoughts:

"Daddy."

It was Neo again. He seemed to really enjoy calling him "Daddy." Silvanus slowly opened his eyes, and in the next moment, he couldn’t help but pause—

Because the space before him had turned pitch black.

Had he been so lost in thought that he hadn’t noticed the change in light at all? Normally, when a bright space suddenly turned dark, there would definitely be a noticeable transition—even if someone had their eyes closed. But now, everything was completely black, so dark that he couldn’t even see his own fingers. This was nothing like ordinary darkness.

The snowstorm outside had also stopped. There was no longer the sound of strong winds crashing against the windows, leaving everything in an eerie, almost unnatural silence—a silence that didn’t seem to belong to this castle at all.

The wisest choice right now would probably be to lie still and wait for this strange feeling to pass.

But Silvanus had a son now.

And his son had just called him.

How could he possibly stay still? Ha ha.

Though, in truth, he really didn’t want to imagine whether, in this darkness, his son still maintained that small, adorable form.

"Neo, are you still okay? Why did everything suddenly become so dark like this...?"

As he spoke, Silvanus quickly scrambled to his feet, fumbling his way toward Neo’s small bed. At the same time, he opened the comment section.

The comments looked bright, but in truth, that light only reflected in Silvanus’s eyes—it did nothing to illuminate the surroundings.

[Ha ha ha, scared now, aren’t you? Run already. That thing is really not something you’d want to look at.]

[That’s right, it’s absolutely terrifying.]

The comment section quickly noticed Silvanus’s gaze and immediately shifted, trying to grab his attention.

Looking at those comments, Silvanus instead felt his confidence grow, and he sped up. In the darkness, he finally pulled Neo into his arms—a perfectly normal Neo, not twisted or deformed.

He was trembling, yet his voice sounded incredibly firm and resolute:

"I’m here, Neo. Don’t make a sound. We’ll definitely survive."

Neo leaned into Silvanus with ease. The boy even hugged him back, gently patting him in comfort, as if silently fulfilling his promise to protect Silvanus.

Meanwhile, outside, in other rooms, a silent change was also taking place...

Mia was just an ordinary office worker—one ordinary person among countless others. She had never imagined that one day she would be dragged into something so absurdly terrifying.

The bloody scene from earlier still lingered in her mind, trapping her in a spiral of negative thoughts and lingering fear she couldn’t escape.

So the moment the lights went out, she almost couldn’t control herself and let out a terrified scream.

"Aaaaaa—!"

The scream abruptly cut off, leaving only the sound of heavy, uneasy breathing in the room.

Mia quickly covered her own mouth, her whole body trembling uncontrollably. Tears streamed down her face without her even realizing it. But she hadn’t forgotten the butler’s warning—she truly was afraid of dying.

But this suffocating feeling seemed even more terrifying than death itself. It was too dark—truly too dark. Not a single trace of light. She felt that if this continued, she might really die, beyond saving...

"Click... click... click..."

At that moment, a series of sounds suddenly rang out, like the rapid tapping of a keyboard. That’s right—there had always been a computer in the room. Its screen had been on ever since Mia entered, but earlier, because the entire room had been brightly lit, she hadn’t paid much attention to it.

Moreover, when the light had completely disappeared just now, the computer screen had gone dark as well. But now, the light reappeared—abruptly, extremely abruptly—instantly drawing Mia’s attention.

A bluish glow illuminated her pale face, wet as if she had just been pulled out of a river. Her pupils, which had been darting around nonstop, finally found a point to focus on.

She stared blankly at the only computer in the room, completely unaware that its light illuminated only her—and none of the other furniture around her.

It was as if this were a pitch-black space, containing only her and the computer. The four walls, which should have felt close, instead seemed so distant that the light couldn’t reach them at all.

Unfortunately, she no longer had the presence of mind to notice such details. She let out a breath, and recalling her usual hobby made her feel as if she had just been given a dose of sedative in this bizarre world.

That’s right—she was a full-time office worker, and she had her own hobbies. After work, before going to sleep, she would always spend some time watching shows. Short, vertical-screen dramas with little "substance," sometimes even a bit nonsensical—but she liked them. Just thinking that one day she might suddenly rise in life thanks to a lottery ticket, a wealthy family, or a boss who accidentally fell in love with an ordinary employee like her made her feel more at ease than ever.

She was addicted to them.
