Chapter 1178 No More
Chapter 1178 No More
About six talents chose to forfeit the match. Add this number to the five talents that Kyran took out; thirty-one participants, including him, were left.
From the five talents Kyran confronted, he confirmed his limit in using Chaos magic was approximately seven minutes. That was also the duration it took to defeat them. If he used that as the basis for how long he could fight against five talents, then against thirty talents, it would take him about forty-two minutes.
But if he included the time he needed to rest in between to use Chaos magic properly, then it would require another eighteen minutes, with a three-minute rest period.
In total, Kyran only needed an hour to defeat all of them.
Obviously, that approximation was impossible. His opponents would not be standing idle the whole time, allowing him to attack. Moreover, there was no guarantee that the other talents would only watch while he fought five simultaneously. And frankly, he could not fight five talents at the same time.
Just as Kyran was contemplating this, all of the remaining talents rushed at him once more.
'Yeah, something like this is also possible,' he thought wryly.
Then again, even if they decided to make a move together. They could not really attack at the same time. At most, five would close in while the rest waited for their turn. Otherwise, a friendly fire would ensue.
Kyran braced himself for the onslaught. Unlike earlier where the five talents went for a melee and mid-range confrontation, they kept a certain distance and unleashed their long-range attacks.
Seeing the several concentrated magic energies coming at him, Kyran used minimal movements to dodge. This was to prevent the other talents to find a gap and go for a sudden melee attack while he was busy dodging the volley of magic attacks.
'!'
Kyran barely evaded the third magic attack when a talent appeared at the spot just beside the small gap he was about to slip through.
BAM!
Instead of directly using his fist to punch Kyran, the talent molded a huge dragon fist using his Ice magic and used that.
Kyran managed to raise his arm in time to block the molded ice dragon fist. However, the second delay on his movement resulted in him failing to dodge the concentrated magic attack completely.
"..ngh!"
Kyran gritted his teeth, tilting his head to one side to reduce the area at which the concentrated magic attack would hit. It went past his shoulder, tearing a part of his clothes in the process.
This was not the first time that Kyran's clothes were torn because of an attack. However, it was the first time an attack actually managed to go past the Chaos magic energy's effect.
If a molded armor or weapon was created, destroying it was easy. One only had to attack with more potent magic attack, or counter it with the element it was weak against.
Kyran's armor was different. It had enough substance to be considered a molded one.
'Looks like you have a very talented successor,' Aillos thought as the face of his long-missed friend crossed his mind.
With the silver armor, Kyran did not have to worry about the incoming long range magic attacks. As for the unexpected melee attacks, as long as he knew where they would come from, it could no longer be considered 'unexpected' to him.
"This match is already over," Velctor muttered while leaning back on his seat.
Orena frowned and was about to refute his comment when two of the talents that tried to sneak another melee attack on Kyran fell down without them knowing what happened.
The talents that were attacking from a distance immediately stopped in fear of hitting the two talents that had fallen.
Kyran did not pass on the opportunity and launched a counterattack. Since he no longer had to use Chaos magic to protect his body, he did not need to rest. He only had to concentrate them around his fists to deal adequate damage.
The audience were rendered speechless as Kyran started his counterattack. Although he did not display an overwhelming advantage against the remaining talents, because they responded well to his attacks, the moment he touched them, or land a good hit, these talents would either fall to the ground unconscious, or keel over in pain.
Kyran's initially calculated the match to end approximately in an hour and was surprised how accurate his guess was. Not all the dragons he defeated fell unconscious, and he also received some internal injuries. But overall, he managed to win.
To be honest, Kyran intended to forfeit the match if the situation got out of hand. However, because of the strategy the young talents used, he managed to win instead.
Eissen looked at the talents inside the arena who were mostly sprawled on the ground. Fortunately, none of them were severely injured. If not, he was sure that the tribe leaders would not be satisfied with what he was about to say.
"The match has now ended," he announced while looking at Kyran. "The Regis Family's talent has won."
Eissen's declaration was met with a tensed silence. Even those who were watching the match remotely had fallen silent.
All eyes were currently at Kyran who stood in the middle of the arena.
For the first time, the figure reflected in their eyes were not that of a lowly human from the Human plane, but that of a talent from a member of their clan. Maybe their thoughts were affected by how Kyran looked very much like a humanoid dragon with his silver armor, but no matter the reason, most of them had finally started to acknowledge him.

Kyran looked toward the platform where Aillos was seated. There he saw the Dragon Emperor returning his gaze with a faint smile.
It was only the second day of the spar matches. However, he would not be surprised if he would no longer received any request by tomorrow.
