Chapter 471: The Green Portal
Chapter 471: The Green PortalAs the alchemists explored the entire battlefield,
Confirming their suspicions, I told them that I didn’t want Jackson, Nessa, and even the imp, Grul, to return to hell after they had built peaceful lives in our world.
Trachios, the cyclops we met in the tower, also looked pleased when we told him that he could stay with us instead of returning to his realm, so I wanted other ’good’ demons to have similar lives.
"It’ll take some time, but if we fix this place a bit, we could give the new demon residents a warm welcome!" Melina commented, scanning the slightly destroyed room and seeing large splatters of blood and burnt marks all around.
"Yeah... I suppose leaving hell to arrive on a battlefield is a bit much," I replied with a chuckle.
Before we could focus on bringing demons into our world, we still had to help our troops return home, and we also needed to ask the rulers for support.
We needed personnel who could document the entrance of new demons and help develop the Lost Continent. While Melina and I were quite capable, we still needed support to build an entire country.
When I cracked my knuckles with determination and started preparing myself to build a city near the tower, Sage Astra gently placed her hand on my shoulder. "You should rest for now..." she said with a slight smile.
Melina and my companions instantly agreed with the sage, telling me that overworking was unnecessary because we were not in a hurry. Moreover, Sage Astra wanted to find other talented people who could help with the restoration of the Lost Continent.
Seeing all their worried expressions and then glancing at my utterly destroyed clothing, I believed that my companions had a good point, so I decided to rest for three days while Sage Astra searched for workers around the world.
Thanks to the magic quartz, countries were able to send their people to a whole other nation in mere seconds, so people who wanted to contribute to the restoration wouldn’t even have to take a boat to get here.
During those three days of waiting, Melina and I made our way to the southern shore of the continent, where part of the massive wall that used to separate the land from the rest of the world still stood tall.
There were small islands between the mainland and the wall, and the entire area would’ve had more touristic appeal if it didn’t have such a massive black wall in the distance.
For that reason, one of the first things we decided to do was slowly take down the wall, which proved to be much harder than expected, considering the material was highly resistant to magic.
Fortunately for us, an old fairy friend came to visit us after spectating the battle from End Town—Ivy, and she said that she could help move the wall to the bottom of the sea with the support of other fairies.
"So, uhh... Couldn’t you have done that before when we needed to go through the wall?" Melina asked Ivy.
"Of course not!" Ivy replied, seemingly indignant.
The fairy explained that it wasn’t a job that she could muster alone, and the other fairies wouldn’t have lent a hand unless we showed our capabilities. Now that we were responsible for winning the war against the demons, she was sure the other fairies would support us.
Still, Ivy said that it would take them one month at the very least to get rid of the entire tower, but honestly, I thought that wasn’t that long for the amount of work they had to do.
